Our Objectives

Investigate and compare student teacher perspectives, teaching staff perspectives, and institutional goals with regard to Initial Teacher Preparation (ITP) programmes.

Gain a deeper understanding of how pre-service teachers’ prior attitudes, beliefs and values were engaged during their ITP experience, and the impact of those engagements on participants’ teacher identity, at the ITP entry and exit points.

Examine the effectiveness of mentoring programmes and the factors that lead to positive impact on Beginning Teachers (BTs) and their professional practices.

Identify major factors affecting teachers’ professional identity, competence and commitment.
